My Hero Academia Season 5 Episode 3 “You’re not alone.” Each season of My Hero Academia is structured around a major story arc that ideally brings Izuku Midoriya and company closer to their goal of becoming professional heroes. The anime has a tendency to rotate between arcs that involve rampaging villains or the continued training and competitions between U.A. High’s heroes. “Clash! Class A vs. Class B!” officially kicks off My Hero Academia’s Joint Training Arc, which allows Midoriya and the rest of Class 1-A to intermingle with Class 1-B’s students....

Harlan Coben’s 2015 novel The Stranger is a story to give pause to anybody who thinks that an incognito tab or a fake online username will keep their secrets. Barring the most sophisticated spook tech, whatever an ordinary person does online is traceable to someone, somewhere. In a shareholder letter sent almost exactly one year to the release of Never Have I Ever season two, Netflix singled the Mindy Kaling-Lang Fisher teen show out for praise. Not praise as any human being being might put it, but acknowledgement of the half-hour comedy having “notched success” as a “key content vertical” – the words every showrunner wants to hear. Within a month of release, announced Netflix, 40 million households worldwide (roughly equivalent to the population of California, where the series is set) had streamed Never Have I Ever’s first season, which followed Los Angeles teen Devi Vishwakumar navigating high school in the months after the very sudden, very public death of her father....

If that does nothing for you, then you might be more interested in the arrival of three non-tinsel films on the service this month. There’s David Fincher’s Mank streaming from December 4th, followed on the 18th by Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, featuring the much-missed Chadwick Boseman, with George Clooney-starring The Midnight Sky landing a couple of days before Christmas on the 23rd. TV-wise, there’s a new season of animated comedy Big Mouth on December 4th, the debut of slick-looking Shondaland period drama Bridgerton on the 25th, and right at the end of the month, the final episodes of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina....

With that in mind, and with the customary “opening weekend” a rather fluid and ambiguous term as well, below is a rundown of films we’ve caught in the past month, along with information on where you can find and watch them. Some are good, some not so much, but your mileage may vary for each. The important thing to know is that movies are still coming out–just not always in the ways we expect....
