In the cell next to his sits a shadowy, scarred figure, one barely glimpsed through the tiny, reinforced window on the door, who is trying to comfort the agitated and defeated villain. What We Do in the Shadows Season 4 Episode 1 Whatuuuup?!? The vampires of What We Do in the Shadows are back, and if it seems like they’ve never left, it is by lazy design. The Staten Island bloodsucking contingent ended season 3 scattered to the four corners of the globe enroute to undeath-changing adventures, and, largely unfulfilled, returned home where it is much cheaper to film. It appears the producers spared no expense on deconstructing the sets, however....

This is both good news and bad news, depending on whether you’re an avid Xbox player or not. The Bethesda acquisition means tons of new first-party titles for the Xbox platform. The Elder Scrolls 6, Starfield, Indiana Jones, and other unannounced projects now join Halo Infinite, Hellblade II, Avowed, Everwild, Perfect Dark, and Fable as reasons to own an Xbox or PC as well as Game Pass. The bad news is that this also might mean you’re out of luck if you don’t own one of these platforms....

While a Chrono Cross remake/remaster was included in that massive Nvidia “leak” that dropped a few weeks ago, a new report from VGC and XboxEra co-founder Nick Baker strongly suggests that Square Enix is indeed working on that project and may eventually release it for multiple platforms. “What else I was told—because everyone’s working under the assumption that it’s a PlayStation exclusive—I’ve been told that it’s not. The only word that was used was ‘multiplat,’” Baker says....

See, Square Enix says that these remasters are intended to visually reimagine the original Final Fantasy games through “universally updated 2D pixel graphics” that deliver “timeless stor[ies] told through charming retro graphics.” While it’s certainly a little strange to suggest that retro games need to be updated with retro graphics, the basic idea is that the company is trying wants to use modern 2D pixel art technology to upgrade the look of the first six Final Fantasy adventures while maintaining their original ar styles as much as possible....

While it’s hard to imagine James Gunn’s recent balls-to-the-wall DC movie The Suicide Squad without its tragic villain Starro now, the director almost pit his team of complex anti-heroes against the Man of Steel, but the uncertain status of the DCEU and question marks over Henry Cavill’s future in it as Superman became sticking points. “There was a time when I thought The Suicide Squad should fight Superman,” Gunn revealed in a new interview with Script Apart, adding his reasoning for for not picking Superman was that “At the time, there were a lot of questions like, ‘Who is Superman in the DCEU?...

Anyone watching a Friday the 13th movie today comes to the classic slasher franchise with more than a few expectations. They want to see Jason Voorhees, of course, complete with his hockey mask and machete. But they likely also want to see some intellectually-challenged teens (played by people in their late 20s and early 30s) get torn apart by a lumbering monster they could never hope to stop. It may surprise some Friday neophytes to learn that as formulaic as the series may be, not every entry contains all of those expected elements....

Now that the smoke has cleared and all those dark troopers have felt the heat from Luke’s green blade, we can finally reflect on the legendary Jedi’s debut on The Mandalorian. As exciting as the finale’s biggest moment was, Luke’s cameo proved to be a divisive one among Star Wars fans despite it hardly being all that surprising. Some fans felt that the cameo was designed to appease toxic fans still angry over the character’s portrayal in The Last Jedi, a move some said resembled the “over correction” in The Rise of Skywalker....

Creator Seth MacFarlane and his team accomplished an amazing third season with The Orville: New Horizons, and did so with so many outside factors affecting production. Despite the pandemic, interruptions in filming, and Fox being bought by Disney, season three is arguably the show’s strongest season in terms of storytelling. Most notably, the writers often seemed as if they were playing the “long game,” setting up new plots for the future, and incorporating several throwbacks from previous episodes....

I’ve spent the last two weeks with the Xbox Series X, testing out everything from its excellent load times and 4K 60fps visuals to its backward compatibility and game-changing Quick Resume feature. Throughout my time with the console, one thing I didn’t encounter was any major overheating issue. At the very least, there was never a moment when I had to nervously glance at my fire extinguisher while using the console....

This begs the question of what the series will be about. Much like many characters in the Sonic universe, Knuckles doesn’t have one clear origin and we aren’t even sure how Sonic the Hedgehog 2 will handle it (though based on the trailers we have some clues.) What will the series follow Knuckles doing? Then of course we have to wonder, will this series give Knuckles the chance to team-up with Sonic?...

Bugs and glitches started to overwhelm the engine, and we eventually ended up with WWE 2K20: a shame of a release that found itself on seemingly every “worst of” video game list in 2019. Described by EA as the “most popular mode in FIFA,” Ultimate Team is basically a combination of a CCG deck builder and a GM mode. A lot of anime series leave a mark on the industry, but Attack on Titan has been at the forefront of the medium for nearly a decade ever since it first made its debut in 2013.
