This deceptively knotty copsploitation flick finds scuzzy Vegas fixer Teddy Muretto (Frank Grillo) on the run after he flips on his high-profile clients. With professional hitman Bob Viddick (Gerard Butler) hot on his trail, Muretto decides that jail is his safest hideaway, so he sucker punches valiant police officer Valerie Young (Alexis Louder) to get locked up. Not to be outdone, Bob gets himself thrown into the same suburban slammer by posing as a drunk driver, and things really heat up once another kooky killer (Toby Huss) comes to the titular copshop....

The more incomprehensible and unsettling the real world gets, the more we welcome TV characters who make us feel safe. BBC One’s Cormoran Strike, a Cornish war veteran turned private investigator who operates out of a shabby Soho office, is reassurance personified. He’s a good man with sad eyes and a tragic past, the kind of TV detective you want to feed a shepherd’s pie and send away with a Tupperware full of leftovers....

The people behind the new DuckTales are massive fans of Darkwing Dark. You can’t deny it after the recent big “crossover” episode aired on Disney, which finally brought Darkwing and his extended cast fully into the story of DuckTales. It featured a deeply compelling story about Darkwing, Gosalyn, and Launchpad, furthered DuckTales‘ current story arc, AND tons of references, big and small, to Darkwing and the Disney Afternoon. Putting together an episode like that is not easy so we had to sit down with DuckTales Co-Executive Producer Frank Angones and Executive Producer Matt Youngberg to discuss the genesis of the episode, how they adapted Darkwing’s tone to DuckTales, and what this all means for the future of the “Disney Afternoon Universe....

Thanks to their never-ending battle for their way, their interests, and nothing else, Snyder fans convinced WB to bankroll the creation of a proper superhero movie, one that begins with five uninterrupted minutes of Superman’s death agony and ends with the good guys chopping off the head of their retreating enemy....

So it should be no surprise that the establishment of new heads of the DCEU has earned a range of responses from the internet. It’s long been known that new head of Warner Bros./Discovery David Zaslav has been looking for a Kevin Feige-type figure to guide the DCEU, and decisions such as shelving Batgirl have only raised the need for a strong hand at the wheel. Recent developments have only complicated things, as new CEO David Zaslav suddenly canceled the nearly-completed Batgirl and left all other movie projects in question, save for Joker: Folie à Deux. Whenever I start a new season of Degrassi it’s like sitting down with an old friend. Catching up on all the embarrassing stories, working through the traumas, and toasting to the triumphs! The behind-the-scenes difficulties that led to Eccleston’s exit from BBC One’s Doctor Who in 2005 are no secret, adding extra interest over the years to the regularly raised question of any potential return.
